The purpose of this study is to analyze the cultural and social activities of universities within the framework of the fourth generation university indicators from the perspective of faculty members.

This research is applied in terms of purpose and was conducted quantitatively as a survey. The statistical population of this pilot study was 603 faculty members of Shahid Beheshti University, of which 234 were selected as a sample using the Krejci-Morgan table. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire that was distributed among the faculty members. In order to examine the validity of the questionnaire, face and content validity were used, and to measure the reliability of this tool, the Cronbach's alpha method was used, which was 91 percent.

The findings indicated that, according to faculty members, the university's performance in implementing cultural and social programs is average and is not desirable in the indicators of guiding civil and scientific society and cultural and social development of the region. Overall, the cultural and social activities of universities are at an average level within the framework of fourth-generation university indicators.

Therefore, in order for these activities to be more useful, it must be acknowledged that carrying out cultural and social activities and programs in universities based on the indicators of the fourth generation university must be in line with the overall goals of the university and focus on responding to the needs of students and society.
